Cons:None
The Bottom Line: An excellent computer for the price, however, there are better computers with more features for an added price.
I have been using this computer for about two weeks since I bought it, and I haven't had any problems. I haven't had a reason to use Compaq's support, but I have heard mixed feelings on it.
A Technical Look
Processor:
An AMD 1GHz has more than enough power for anything I have been able to throw at it. Programming, Gaming, the like.
Battery:
The Battery has a 2.5 hour life for normal usage, but, it can get up to 3.25 hours if you are only word-processing.
Screen:
The screen is a beautiful 14.1" screen that hasn't had any problems since I bought it.
Graphics:
This area is lacking, it uses a shared video memory structure, so it consumes some of the system ram. The video card (S3 Twister-K) is not anything special. The system scored 473 on a 3DMark2001 benchmark test.
DVD:
The DVD has been working flawlessly, what more can I say.
Sound System:
The speakers on this system are excellent, they have a nice range, and a good volume. I was able to get a good deep bass and still maintain a nice high pitch.
Other Features:
10/100 Nic
Floppy Drive
S-Video Port
56k Modem
Closing Statement
This would be an excellent laptop for someone just getting into the mobile business, or, how can't afford one with all of the bells and whistles. Otherwise a great buy!
