Pros: Snap-to-fit really does fit.
Cons: Elastic styling can look a bit sloppy.
The Bottom Line: A solid, comfortable option for twill style maternity pants.

| sofarsogood's Full Review: Snap-to-Fit Twill Pants |
Snap-to-fit maternity pants have become a bit of a JCPenney exclusive. They used to sell them in shorts too. This style of maternity pants is advertised for early, late, and post pregnancy.
Snap-to-fit maternity pants are available in basic colors (navy, ,khaki, white, black, chino, and stonewash denim) and offer a different style of expansion than the knit maternity panel. These pants also have pockets, which are the position for expansion. The elastic waistband reaches around the front to receive the snaps on the front panel. The front panel has two snaps, while the waistband has four snaps that allow the pants to expand to three (or four if you are brave) positions. The front panel is all twill, which means that you do not need to wear longer shirts to cover anything.
As with other JCPenney maternity clothes, they claim that they have taken into account your expected growth in the size charts. In this case, it comes very close to being true. Some of the fabrics shrink more than others--the denim is a particular culprit, so you might want to buy a size larger for those. These pants do come in petite, regular, and long. JCPenney used to sell these as shorts too, but you can always purchase an extra pair of pants and hem them off (watch the horizontal, as they are easy to hem crooked).
Comfort is a big issue with maternity pants and an elastic waist of this style may not provide as much as you need. I found the front panel to sit high enough in early pregnancy to be very comfortable, but to be a bit tight later on. Choices for twill style pants are pretty limited though and this is my favorite.
These pants do function well post-pardum, as the snaps can be tightened up to the closest snaps to come home. This is a great feature in a basic twill style, just beware that these pants are elastic waisted so they may appear a bit sloppy and snaps do get looser over time. Toward the end of wearing this style pants, those snaps do pop open from time to time.
Pants are a big maternity investment in my wardrobe, as I usually wear a pair of pants at least two times before washing. The basic colors may not be the trendy, but they do fit comfortably and coordinate with a lot of tops. At 27.00 a pair (for misses and petites), these twill pants wear a lot longer than knit pants and look a bit neater.
