A+ to EDIETS ! (SEE UPDATE)
by goldenglow | Sep 01 '02
PLEASE SEE UPDATE AT BOTTOM. Over the years I have tried a number of different diets to lose the excess 15 pounds I gained when I quit smoking and gave birth to my second child. By the time baby was 12 I had "dieted" my way from 15 extra pounds to ...

Seems like there are some folks who are just addicted to criticising others, for some reason.
We are kind of a sad race, us humans!!
Ya can't please all of the people all of the time, ya know??

Re: this is a paid advertisement (Reply to this comment)

This was absolutely NOT a paid advertisement. I have not been paid for any of my epinions by any company that I have written a review for. At the time I joined and used eDiets I found it to be a very beneficial, supportive site. I write what I honestly believe.

I think ediets is a wonderful online support program for many people. I personally found another program that worked better for me though. So I switched a long time ago. Regardless I feel the ediets plan works well for some people and find it sad that because I was enthusiastic its thought that my review was paid for - it absolutely was not. I have never been paid by e-diets. Nor did I have any other affiliation except as a member when I wrote the review, several years ago.

Its offensive to be called a fake user with fake reviews because I am enthusiastic about a product.

This and most of the comments on this plan appear to be placed by E diets themselves just like diets-reviewed.com in the links below the reviews on epinions

warning about ediets (Reply to this comment)
by jano_73
I was on ediets for a few months, and it did work. I was losing weight at a rate that was fast enough to give me encouragement but slow enough to be healthful (1-2 pounds a week).

My problem with ediets is that I made the mistake of going to the workout section of the web site. By doing so, I found out later that I was charged an extra $10, even though I saw nothing on any of the web pages to indicate that the workout information came at an additional cost. I could have easily found the same information for free at my local public library.

Ediets refused to credit my account for the $10. They lost my business as a result, and it was obvious that they couldn't have cared less that they lost a customer. I complained a couple of times and didn't even receive the courtesy of a response.

So, if you join ediets, don't be surprised if you end up paying more than the stated fee. And if you complain to their so-called customer service, don't be surprised if your complaint is ignored.

eDiets is the best I've found by far (Reply to this comment)
by ljstodoladiet
I've been an eDieter for 2 years now and have found it to be a really great program. It teaches you a healthy way to lose weight and change over to a healthier more active lifestyle.

I've been on MANY "diets" in the past, but I feel this is the best and easiest by far. It's also very "liveable." There's no gimmicks. You don't have any forbidden foods and you eat a balanced diet from all the food groups.

You don't need to count calories (unless you want to). Ediets gives you a large variety of interchangeable meals plans and all you need to do is pick what you like. They even include convenience-type meals, a grocery list, a substitution list and a snack every day. Who doesn't want a snack everyday (smile)? There is an exercise program, lots of interesting & helpful informational "stuff" on the website and fantastic, anytime support!

The support is what I have found to be the biggest difference. There is support any time, any day, whenever you need it or want it. Whether it's from your own personal mentor, other members in a chatroom, in an eDiets on-line meeting or in the many threads, you always have someone to help you & listen. Someone who understands what it's like to work towards weight loss and a healthy lifestyle in a world of fast foods and unhealthy, sedate lifestyles.

Ediets also stresses how this is a process ... a learning process. Bad habits need to be broken and replaced with new, good, healthy habits.

I'd suggest this program to any one who has a computer and wants to lose weight.

Signed, ljstodoladiet

A to eDiets also!! (Reply to this comment)

I agree with golden glo. I have been a member of eDiets since March 2001. In just 3 months I had lost the weight I wanted to and have been able to maintain my lose since. I have continued to be a member using the support groups to help me maintain my goal weight.

I was also doubtful of eDiets when I first joined but came to realize I had found the exact plan I needed to lose my extra weight. It is not just another diet plan, it teaches you how to eat healthy and make changes in your diet that you will use for the rest of your life. I am very glad I found eDiets and gave them a try!!

I'm curious if you've tried eDiets and found this information to be incorrect.
I suspect you haven't, because I've been a member of eDiets for 2.5 years and everything this review says is true. I'm not a "fake" member and I'm not getting paid to advertise for them.
It was a rather long review explaining exactly what eDiets can do for you, but I didn't read a single piece of erroneous information.
I've written my own review to share my experience with other consumers.

Total BS (Reply to this comment)
by lafinjack
I was hoping to find a helpful review on eDiets, but all I found was this fake user with a huge list of fake reviews for other products. "Her" reviews read like a press release for these products. It's sickening how companies can abuse a site made for consumer protection like this to further their own ends.
