Makes me irreverently think of The Island of Dr. Moreau who tried turning animals into humans (vormancian's review), hehe....

If you REALLY..... (Reply to this comment)

....want to get a good background on the French and Indian War, you should add some study on the miracles of George Washington, then serving in the British Army.
One place to find the TRUE account (his coat used to be on display at the Smithsonian) of what happened is in a book called THE BULLETPROOF GEORGE WASHINGTON by David Barton.
David Barton compiles the story from documents and three dozen history books as well as numerous other sources.
It is a story that should be told to everyone that would listen. I know that the first time I heard it, I was sure it was fiction, until I did some research of my own. I found this book only after I had found the story to be true for some years. I also found accounts of another situation where George Washington was supernaturally preserved from death, in a secular source book.
Also it is of interest to know that George Washington also had a vision of the future of this country, which used to be on a bronze plaque at a museum in the Midwest, but I can not remember which one now. The vision has come true- including the World Wars- but some of it is yet to come.
Great review, as always.

Man I hated this book (Reply to this comment)

Until Faulkner was foisted on me in high school, this was by far my least favorite of all of the books I had to read for school. Your review, on the other hand, was quite enjoyable.

I'm glad I happened to be looking through recent reviews when this one came in. :) I'd hate to think I'd miss one of yours...
