I use my laptop as an entertainment centre sometimes but the tiny speakers just don't cut it. I was wondering how I can have good sound system on the go and I found this ingenius design.
Specification
4W total output speakers with a mini subwoofer built-in. The speakers are foldable and comes with an AC adaptor (110V to 240V so you can really go anywhere with it). It can accept 4 AA batteries if you are not close to an outlet.
Performance
The unit performed quite well given its size. There is actually bass coming from the unit. I use it with my laptop as an entertainment centre and the output is simply great. Now you can't really compare it with full size amplifiers and speakers but given the portability, I'm more than happy with it. Only slight distortion when you turn the volume up but there is no interference from other electronic components. With it unfolded, it also looks rather stylish.
Value
I paid about US$80 including shipping and some may think it's rather steep. I think it's by no means cheap but it's good value given that I can bring and use it anywhere I want to.
