I formerly worked in the cell phone industry( not Verizon), so I know how things work. The business is complex, the technology is complex, and the people in it are not well paid or highly trained, so lower your expectations. However, I must say that I have not had any big issues with Verizon. By big I mean overbilling or features paid for but not being provided. There was a period where I was receiving my statements 6 weeks after the closing date, which was a problem. But that was resolved, basically by me using online billing. But, really, everything else has been fine. I have done a couple of plan changes without incident. I have had to replace my phone twice, but both times it was pretty quick and painless. And, my charges have been accurate, except for one bill. I have been a customer for nearly 3 years, so I speak from experience. One caveat, though. Service varies from market to market. Verizon is consistently ranked highly in Houston where I am, but it does suck in other markets. Reasons for that are too long to explain here.
