| rajifelly's Full Review: Minolta-QMS DiMAGE Scan Dual II Digital Film Scann... |
I did a lot of homework on this product before committing to it. I have read that it's noisy, slow, picks up too many scratches and needs colour correction. These are all true.
However, It was only around the $300 range, it was installed and working on my ME system and then my XP system in under 10 minutes, It is only a USB connection and, when scanning a negative at 2820dpi, you're going to pick up all the scratches. As for colour correction, HELLO!, welcome to the digital graphics environment. Colour is subjective so no one product will please everyone. True, some film types need more correction than others but, remember the price paid and the amount of use it's designed for.
If you want to get into digital graphics, then you'll want to manipulate and that means having to play around with colour correction. If you want to scan and forget, well, good luck finding the perfect solution for this price.
As for the noise, yes, it's a bit noisy but, that's the trade off for the other points like COST!!, size, and desired market ie: the home user.
I am extremely happy with this product, I'd buy it again in an instant and, I'd reccommend it to others.
It was through reading reviews on Epinions.com that I decided to purchase and I'm pleased I did.
Buy this product yourselves and enjoy!
