High fashion appeals to me in a big way. I prefer the big names, especially Gucci, Armani, and Kenneth Cole because the clothes are always so fresh and hip. On a weekend trip to Las Vegas, NV I discovered Armani Exchange at the Caesar's Palace Forum shops. I waltzed in and was taken by the prices, right around those of Abercrombie and Banana Republic, but considering they are authentic Armani (although very much more mass produced than the originals) they are a good deal just considering the label. The essence is of a fusion between, say, DKNY and French Connection with a hipper, more colorful, slightly urban and youthful spin and an evident influence by the elite icons as well as the always chic Gap. The materials are pleasing, the styles are great (beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though, so I'll leave that up to you), and being that the chain is still relatively obscure, you probably won't run into anyone with the same clothes you've got.
The online store, www.armaniexchange.com, is set up in a way that may be a little trifling at the beginning, since it opens in its own window, which is set at 640x480 pixels regardless of your screen setting. You are left always trying to maximize the window. The features and layout are intuitive enough, and the layout is attractive. Everything else is typical of any other online store, and ordering is a breeze. Just place an item in your shopping basket, check out when you're ready, and pay with a credit card over a secure connection.
I had to return an item I bought for my girlfriend (I ordered one size too big and still haven't heard the end of it!), and the refund came quickly. The salespeople over the phone are very helpful.
Try it out!
