Quality of Tech Support:
Pros:Lots of features
Cons:NO SUPPORT, batteries die and can't be replaced, LCD problems
The Bottom Line: Great features + low cost + high failure rate = risky purchase
My company bought 6 of these for our sales VPs 18 months ago due to the great features list, including the cd-rw.
Of the original 6, 4 have SERIOUS problems. Most troublesome is LI batteries that die prematurely. There are NO replacements available, none! I'm currently writing this review on a laptop that must be plugged in to work.
We also have experienced unknown crashes, and lock-ups and LCDs that "flicker" and have to be "jiggled" to stay on. ACER tech support is non-existent.
On the bright side, the 2 that work without problems are great computers that were cheap to purchase and have the features of much more expensive computers. The question is do you feel lucky? Well punk, do ya?
(sorry, had to do the Clint Eastwood quote :))
