Pros: Good pictures, great features, easy to hold
Cons: proprietary battery $35, short battery life, hard to see through viewfinder
The Bottom Line: If you have a good right eye, and don't need to shoot for long at a time, it's a really good camera!

| HerCathyness's Full Review: Kyocera Mita Samurai 2100DG Digital Camera |
This camera is SOOO close to being great, but not for me. I think this is because of my disabilities, not the camera's. It is very easy to hold with one hand- and mine are neither strong nor steady. It has fine optics, 4x optical non-protruding zoom. Huge range of manual settings options,+7 to -7, 6.6 to 26.4 mm; takes B&W and sepia-tone.
That said, it is frustrating for me because 1) It's a right-eyed camera, designed to hold with the right hand to the right eye- and I'm blind in my right eye! So, my nose gets in the way against the LCD screen. (which is not large, but is very clear and sharp.) The viewfinder is tiny and hard for me to see through, and using the screen uses up the battery really fast. That's number 2) a proprietary battery, $35, and only recharges in the camera. I saved up for a spare, but the still run out fast, and if I'm not somewhere that I can plug the whole thing in to recharge, I can't shoot very long.
I paid only $300 for mine a year ago, $799 seems way too much. It did come with a Lexar JumpShot memory card reader, very convenient.
If you have a good right eye, and don't need to shoot for long at a time, it's a really good camera! The quality of the pictures, printed, e-mailed or displayed on a monitor, is exceptional, especially for 1.3 mega pixels.
