Once I finally decided which MiniDV camcorder I wanted, I looked around locally. Stores around my area wanted close to $1000. Then I started looking online and found it for much less. IBuyDigital had the same camera for $690. There were some other online places which were a few dollars cheaper, but they had horrible reviews. IBuyDigital seems to be a legit place and not one of those shady dealers.
I place my order on a Tuesday morning right after a Monday Holiday. With my camcorder I ordered an accessory package of tapes, an extra battery, etc. Tuesday night I received an email from Linda, asking me to call and confirm my order. I thought, here it is - it was too good to be true.
On Wednesday, I called Linda and expected some type of excuse or pressure to buy more stuff. I dialed her extension and got her right away, no waiting. She just wanted to inform me that because of the extended weekend/holiday they are slightly backed up with orders, but I should receive an email with tracking numbers by Friday. That's it she didn't want me to worry where the package was, and she didn't pressure me to buy anything more.
Late Thursday, I receive tracking numbers from FedEx. I'll be receiving my package by Monday. Once monday came around, I received everything sealed, brand new and as promised.
An added bonus: the additional battery I ordered wasn't an original Canon battery, but it was more powerful. The supplied canon battery is 570mah, and the additional aftermarket battery is 800mah. The aftermarket battery lasts noticably longer than the original canon.
I've since recommended IBuyDigital.com to everyone I know. Why pay retail prices, when online it's much cheaper? The only minor issue might be accessories, some other places have better prices on them.
