Pros: It's fast, quiet, and the IBM name sounds good.
Cons: It dies within a year. Got two, both died in less than a year.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this harddrive. Like I said, if you can't store a data in a harddrive for some time, it can't be called a harddrive.

| spoofee's Full Review: IBM Deskstar 60GXP 40GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (... |
I use to own a IBM 75GXP 30GB harddrive and it failed on me after a year. Then I got this 60GXP 40GB as a replacement. (Good customer service here). This failed on me after half a year.
While it's working, it's quiet and fast! But it dies on you quick. You lose all important datas like I did. IBM does no recovery service. If a harddrive is not made to store data for some time, I don't think we can really call it a harddrive.
I'm no longer a believer, moving to Western Digital. Avoid this harddrive. Like I said, if you can't store a data in a harddrive for some time, it can't be called a harddrive.
