As the "trying to stay cool" big sister of two teenage boys, I have come to rely on Abercrombie & Fitch as a staple at gift giving times. I can count on them to supply the goods that my favorite teens love to get!
Shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch-
It's important to remember that in order to get to the Abercrombie & Fitch website, you'll need to use the web address of www.abercrombieandfitch.com, or you'll never get there to start shopping.
The main page is usually touting a semi-clothed, hardbody, sometimes male, sometimes female. They are currently the sexy duo you may have seen gracing AF shopping bags at your local mall. Links are provided to a separate AF kids website and a soccer site as well. For those of you that just want to get to the goods, follow the shop AF" icon in the middle of the page.
Products and Selection-
AF is laid out with selections for Men, Women and Gifts. Each category has a pull down menu for the many sub-departments. Virtually everything from the skivvies and scent you may need to start your outfit to the outerwear that will get you out the door is available.
Favorites of my teen fans seem to be the graphic tees, and the cargo style pants with a million pockets.
Casual is key, and having a tiny body won't hurt either. Sizes stop at 14 for women and a body-hugging XL in men's. If you've never shopped at AF think fitted, tight, muscle cuts, flares, fades, and generally nothing someone of tender years can wear without looking ridiculous.
Picking up a "hip" gift is going to come with a price too. Think $50.00+ for jeans, and $20.00 or more for a graphic t-shirt. I have found the clothing to be durable over time. If you can stomach the prices and can fit the merchandise then get shopping!
Finishing It Up-
Once you pick a product out to view, AF provides ample information and help to complete your purchase. Product sizes (showing only those in stock) as well as a sizing guide are in plain view. You can see all of the color palette and change the photo shown to see the color you want in all it's glory. Fabric information is given and whether or not the product is an import (most seem to be for those that care).
Add what you like to your cart or wishlist (see more below)as you go. Checking out is the basic internet model with no notable exceptions. Once you've input your information all you'll need to do on return visits is sign in with user name and password to save time.
Shipping, Handling, Service!!-
AF has the little details down pat! Payment is accepted via the major credit cards and their own AF Charge. Shipping is done via UPS (except for international orders) and is calculated by price. Items under $25.00 start at $4.95 and culminate at $14.95 for orders over $200.00. Very reasonable in my opinion.
Notice of your order is sent promptly upon receipt. Notice is also sent via e-mail once your order has shipped out.
This notice contains a link to take you directly to check the status of your package on it's way.
My recent purchase was a gift sent to someone directly rather than to me, and I was pleased to see it get there via the web, and then really delighted to see a snail mail confirmation of my order and it's shipping arrive in my mailbox. Delivery was extremely timely, and has been each time I've ordered.
Fun Features-
Shopping at AF is fairly easy, but the site is loaded with features if you're inclined to surf much past the shopping.
-Changing Room-
A twist on traditional changing rooms, AF's allows you to mix and match tops, and bottoms on a model. Picking the sizes and colors. Kind of fun, and available for men and women.
-Credit Anyone?-
For your convenience you can apply for an AF store credit card online, as well as manage any existing AF accounts.
-On The Right Track-
Keep an eye on your AF order via up to date online tracking. Link up to UPS via AF or your confirmation e-mail.
-Wishlist-
My teen boys can keep me from guessing by surfing on their own and then letting me know about their personal wishlists. This keeps me from picking up something dorky on accident!

Over the years I have found Abercrombie & Fitch to supply reliable, if pricey goods for those looking to make a trendy fashion statement. Their website delivers as well with reasonable shipping rates, extra features, good customer service and a wide array of products to pick from. As the holiday season approaches, I highly recommend you surprise a teen with something from Abercrombie & Fitch!
