| wolverton529's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP Pavilion F50 (15 in.) Flat Pane... |
I purchased the HP f50 monitor as part of a system around Memorial day 2002. I decided on the HP because I have always been satisfied with their products in the past and there was a rebate going on to bring the price down a little. I bought the monitor at Circuit City and was impressed with their service as well.
The Good: The monitor stand is less than a foot wide and 7" deep. You can tilt the monitor easily to adjust the view as well. It is encased in a silvery metallic plastic which fits in well with todays office environments or dorm rooms. I actually use it for a small office and my applications primarily are Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet. It also does a great job on Photographs. I use it to display all my pictures I took with My Canon Powershot 110 and they are fantastic. I always get compliments. The monitor was very plug and play and the manuals are idiot proof.
The Bad: Not much to say here except it lists for a costly $650 although I got it for closer to 500. Also the monitor's max resolution is 1024x768 and that may not suit some users. (keep in mind it is very clear however and most programs easily let you zoom out to fill the page so the resolution is not that big a deal to me... I actually have much bigger resolution however on my little Fujitsu P2110 laptop I just got. and that machine is tiny!
The Verdict. If you can get one of these for around 500 then you are in good shape. otherwise there may be better options out there for you.
