Pros: Small and thin, color screen, higher speed web, feature-rich
Cons: Crackly speakerphone, external antenna
The Bottom Line: I would recommend it to those who love gadgets (I do.) Lots of features! Sprint PCS plans and coverage have been good for me, but beware their customer service.

| miraa's Full Review: Samsung SPH-N400 |
I just upgraded to this phone from it's Samsung SCH-3500 progenitor. I love the color screen and Sprint Vision (40 - 70 kbps)just started working today. It's not as speedy as I'd like, but it's quite a bump from the 14.4kbps wireless modem that was available before.
Now, the bad--Sprint PCS Vision is not as foolproof as I'd like. It took an entire weekend to get it to even log on for the first time, and Sprint PCS technical support was not knowledgeable or very helpful. They just have awful customer service--long hold times, English-second-language reps, etc. It's just a headache dealing with them.
I'm not sure what I think of Vision downloads. Basically it's a subscription program because the ringtones, wallpaper, games and other apps expire after a certain period of time, causing the user to repurchase.
This seems to be a good phone with good call quality and some neat features. It supports J2ME apps (games and programs.) It has a rudimentary organizer and a decent phone book. I like the voice-dial feature. The speakerphone is a bit crackly. The built-in ring tones are weird--I would like just a plain old ringing sound, but no such luck.
Satisfied with the phone, not with Sprint PCS customer service.
