I ordered some Royal Worcester China from Ross-Simons in July '02. It was back-ordered, and when I found it for MUCH less at the Royal Doulton outlet, I called and canceled my RS order. A few weeks later I received a note saying that my china was back-ordered until October. I called RS again to reverify that my order had been canceled. They verified that my order had been canceled in Aug. Last week, surprise, the China arrived at my doorstep and, of course, my credit card had been billed for the entire amount. UPS took the shipment back and despite the fact that their customer service supervisor promised to immediately refund the entire amount, Ross-Simon kept my all of my money until they got their unordered and unopened merchandise. When I reviewed my credit statement, I found that they had not credited me for the entire amount, but had shorted me by more than $61. When I called customer service, they stated that I had not returned all of their unordered/unopened merchandise (despite the fact that the security tape had not been broken). It took a threat of legal action and a couple of days of calls to get all of my money back. My suggestion is that if you need China, go to or call a Royal Doulton outlet store, unless you have a great deal of time, money and patience to waste with Ross-Simons.
