Pros: Great as a first player/recorder, easy to record on cheap media
Cons: Craftsmanship, Titling, headphones
The Bottom Line: I would've loved everything (except for titling) if it weren't for the shoddy craftsmanship. Hopefully, I had a defective unit and you won't have the same problem.

| ormachea's Full Review: Sharp MD MT15 MiniDisc Recorder |
This was my favorite mini disc player/recorder for the first 7 months I had it.
I recorded all my songs digitally from my computer, so they were all of great quality (I couldn't notice a difference between those songs and the originals). I love minidisc. The format is incredibly cheap and easy to rewrite.
The only problem was the titling would take forever and it could not be titled while recording or playing. I would not have had as much a problem with the tedious titling if I could have at least listened to my songs while I was doing so. The hold switch was pretty useful, so I wouldn't accidently change the song I was listening too.
Then, I realized that the screws were coming out of the back (and I noticed this after some of my screws had disappeared). I quickly retightened the ones that were there and put in new ones. A month later, nearly all the screws were gone and the faceplates were coming apart. I put some more screws in, and made real sure that they were tight.... about another month went by until my display died.
I figured I could deal, I mean by then I had memorized the 5 or 6 different md I put into the player. It only lasted a couple more days before it died. I tried contacting Sharp to have it replaced (I thought it was still within the warranty), but they would only repair it for about the cost of the unit.
My sharp is sitting in a box in my closet now, and I just purchased a Sony MZ-N707. Hopefully that one will last longer. Hopefully, I just got a defective unit, and you all will have better luck with it. Just make sure to tighten the screws as soon as you buy it.
