Pros:Burn-proof technology
Cons:Software
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this writer in it's ease of use, great hardware and technology

When i first got my Plexwriter 12/10/32, i was a little bit skeptical with the advertised Burn-proof technology. I've used Philips, Smart&Friendly, even the older Plexwriter 8/4/32A... every one of them at least had experienced buffer underrun. I usually throw about 3 in a 100 CDs... not bad, but still i expect better.

In a way to prove the Burn-proof technology, i went on and set up a random test on the burner, before i return this to the seller (well, i told you i'm pretty skeptical).
I set up the burner on the same IDE channel as my Pioneer 16X drive (It's a no-no to set up a CD Writer and CD Reader in the same channel if you want a direct CD copy). I do a direct CD copy, which would fail in other drives. It spit out a perfect copy!

Still unsatisfied, i went on again and do the same test, this time while downloading files off the internet at 64 Kbps, Play some songs on Winamp and.. Play Oni!
To my disbelief, the writer spits out another PERFECT copy.
Now i'm never going to take this back to the store... this is an excellent burner to my opinion (at least until a faster burner came up).
Now i've been burning about 200 cds without a single coaster.. i'm so happy!

People always grumble about the software that is bundled with the Plexwriter... now that's true.. plextor software aren't very good; but if you just put the software somewhere in your house and get a copy of Nero, everything will be just fine...
