Pros: Powerhouse. Fast, stable. Great specs. Great price purchased refurbished.Three year on site warranty.
Cons: Dealing with Dell!!! A bit heavy. Keyboard a stretch for short fingers.
The Bottom Line: Buy it refurbished and get a jam packed system at a low price. Be prepared to hate dealing with them.

Probably an excellent laptop, at a great price. I don’t have it long enough to be sure, but it seems like a powerhouse and not one blue screen yet!!!The absolute worst technical support and customer service. In the two weeks since I got this laptop, have spent up to three hours at a time, mostly on hold, and been lied to repeatedly, hung up on (no accident) if they didn’t know the answer or understand my frustration level. They refuse to let you speak to a supervisor and frankly, I think they were all trained by the "Gestapo"!
That said, so far I am very impressed with the performance. I did have a bad keyboard that was replaced fairly rapidly, after hours on hold. Forget their online tech support. It takes as many hours to wade through those menus as it does their endless phone menus, that finally get you to a phone queue, where you then wait on hold listening to messages of how much they care about you and your call. So far my new keyboard feels fine. I pray that I don’t need to deal with them again any time soon.
The specs are excellent. I bought a refurbished unit, which had an additional $300 sale on it. I have a three-year on site warranty. That is superb. I have an 18 gig hard drive which turns out to be only 16.6 as the balance is partitioned off with a "zztop". It took days to learn this. Nothing tells you this. They should explain that from the get go. It took several phone calls and holding patterns to finally learn this. Why don’t they explain that when they sell it?
The rest of the unit is as it was supposed to be, 256 megs of ram, 650 Pentium, speed step, hot swapping of floppy drive, excellent 14 “ display. It is heavy, but I mainly plan to use it at home so that’s not a problem. I disabled the two pointing devices and added my own "Logitech" mini scrolling mouse. My hands are small, so I am finding the keyboard, which is set back a lot further than my old laptop, a bit uncomfortable. If you are a touch typist, and I am not, then I am sure you would like the two pointing devices. For me they are a disaster and I knew that from my old laptop, so I was prepared to use an external mouse and disable the internal ones.
I suspect that this laptop is going to be with me a long time. I pray that I don’t have to deal with Dell too often!!!!!!
