Pros: Bali Satin Tracings minimizer is pretty, comfortable, and well made.
Cons: Itty-bitty bras are cuter, but they don't do the job.
The Bottom Line: Bali does understand that some women do have breasts that can't be caged in dime-sized swatches of lace.

| CyndiA's Full Review: Bali® Satin Tracings™ Minimizing Full-F... |
If you arent a busty babe, then you dont want to buy Bali® Satin Tracings Minimizing Full-Figure Bra. This bra is designed to support women with C and up sized breasts. Along with giving support so that you dont get whiplash if you have to go from 0 standing to a 10 mph run when your kid wrecks on his bike, this one also gives your breasts the illusion of being something less than what they are. In other words, this is a minimizer bra, and it is sold as making you look up to 1 ¼ inches less. While I cant say for sure how much smaller this bra makes a body look . . . Im just not one to stand in front of the mirror and eyeball such details, the Bali Satin Tracings does make it easier to button shirts when you are a little surgy on the hormones at that time of the month.
The Bali minimizer is one of my favorite styles on bras, because it looks cute (or as cute as a mega bra can look), its comfortable, well made and it holds up really well over time which is a hard job for a bra that really does have something to do besides sit there and look sexy.
Most busty bras are just downright ugly. I remember when I was a kid and Id see the jumbo bras on clotheslines around town. I would think: Whew-we, I will never ever wear something like that. All those bras were white with huge snap backs and wide adjustable straps. I was always thinking that those could be cut up to clothe an entire family or to launch canon balls if the south ever went back to war.
Life has a way of catching up with you, so naturally I ended up with ample breasts just like my Granny who had some of those super bras waving in the wind on sunny days. When I had to go out and look for bras, I could see why women in town were stuck with the ugly service models. Thats about all they made in D and up cups.
Bali was really the only company to make good bras in fuller cups, and I had to order those from the catalog. It was worth it to get bras that looked like what women would actually want to wear and especially during gym where you strip down and have your bra shining or in those date situations where things get down to the drawers and bra.
The Bali Satin Tracings is nice looking. The cups are made with rigid material that holds you in place and makes you look smaller, but the cups are patterned with flower looking color-on-color decorations. The shoulder straps are satin and though they are wide for comfort, they glimmer and look nice. Certainly, I would not wear a spaghetti string top and have these straps showing for fashion, but the shoulder straps look nice under clothing and if you need to stand in your bra for some reason without a shirt.
Now, today there are some pretty bigger bras, but they are mostly uncomfortable, cheap made, and dont last.
It really doesnt matter how beautiful a bra looks, if you are pulling and tugging at it all day and waiting to get home and take it off. Some of the bargain big bras have all kinds of lace right against your skin and in places where you need support. Youre both floppy and itchy, and that pretty well ruins the feeling pretty moment.
Bali Satin (and really all the Bali line) are made from quality fabrics and stitched together so that they stay together. I had a blow out once in Junior High School when the strap on my bra pulled apart and left me literally hanging. It is hard to think up what to say to a male teacher about why you need to go to the bathroom and why you want a safety pin and why youre walking all hunched over. I just said I had a female problem, which generally does not invite many questions from male people. Bali has never done that to me, so I appreciate that these are well constructed bras and dont let me down in any way.
If you are small chested, then you may be able to pick up bras for $5, but bigger bras are expensive and just never on sale. About the best I can do for a Bali is $20. Some run up to $30. This Satin minimizer tends to go for about $25 with outlet shopping in this area. I get about half my bras in this Satin style and then some in other Bali styles that run a little lower in price. If Im having any water weight gain or if I want to do anything sporty, then I go with the minimizer for the support and extra comfort.
Though Bali bras do run high, they last a lot longer than most bras. Busty women can wear out bras really fast if they are not well made. After all, the bra really is doing some work. The Balis go from 6 months to a year on average for me which is about twice what other brands go.
Though the care label says to hand wash the Satin Tracings Bali, Ive never done that. If you have a tiny little bra that you can wring out in one hand, then you might want to do that. If you have a bra that could almost serve as a hammock, then you dont want to try to wrestle that thing in the sink and get all the soap rinsed out. I just throw my Balis in the washing machine on gentle and then line dry in the basement where the neighbor girls dont have to look at those big bras and think about how they wont ever have to wear things like that.
If you are big busted, then you can get Silk Tracings from 34 C up to 42 DDD. Youll have a nice bra that looks good, feels good and lasts. Youll even look a little less busty and be able to wear shirts that sometimes strain with regular bras. I cant imagine how Bali could do a better job with a bra that needs to really do some work like provide support. Im really impressed with what theyve done for women who do have larger breasts. KUDOS to Bali for the Satin Tracings minimizer.
