Overall, I think your review was right on top. However, since this notebook uses the desktop version of the chip, they put in a mombo fan to cool it. The fan is very noisy compared to other laptop fans. As a lawyer who sometimes needs to take notes in relatively quiet meetings and places (courtrooms), this notebook is almost unusable in those situations. Otherwise, it is a great desktop replacement unit.

Hi Carol!
I guess the cat is real, though I think it was setup to produce the animation. I found it on the Internet and thought it was really cute. As long as no one complains I will keep it up there for a while.

I actually surprised that the SmartStep 200 got you so many hours... guess I should put down notebooks based on desktop P4 processors anymore... especially after reading this and playing with some of the sweet high end Toshiba ones.
As usual, nice review Ron.
