FragranceNet.com is the perfect shopping solution for those who have a signature scent and a budget!
BACKGROUND - My favorite fragrance is Fendi and it's not just everywhere. Often, I can find it at the local department stores, but it's not quite as mainstream as the "supermodel" fragrances, so it isn't usually available at discount stores. In the past, I've made semi-annual trips up to a shopping outlet about an hour or so from my home to buy cologne. I was paying about $20 for a 1.7 oz bottle of Fendi Eau de Toilette and feeling really good about the price. I recently took a full time job and no longer have the luxury of full shopping days, so I began to search for on-line stores that carried Fendi. Naturally, I came to Epinions first for some information on on-line fragrance stores.
BROWSING -I looked at almost all the stores listed, but FragranceNet.com at http://www.fragrancenet.com/html/ was the easiest to navigate since I already knew what fragrance I wanted. It occured to me, while I was browsing, that the internet is not a very good source for shopping for colognes if you don't already know what you want to buy. Fragrances simply MUST be sampled in person, so I decided that I'd stick to the old "tried and true" Fendi. Many of the fragrance sites I explored carried my scent, but I wanted the BEST deal since I already knew what I wanted. FragranceNet.com had the largest variety of Fendi products and bottle sizes, and the prices were at least comparable to the other sites, so my cup of coffe, bathrobe, and myself settled in there.
WEBSITE - Being a web designer, I was a little disappointed that a perfume site couldn't be a little more imaginative in its design, but I guess FragranceNet.com is kind of like the Walmart of fragrances. Let's face it, Walmart doesn't need to have a Flash-laden site to sell its products. The prices and variety are the attraction. Thus, I was content with no-frills purple and white interface of FragranceNet.com (although it didn't stir me in the least).
SHOPPING - FragranceNet.com is the perfect navigational site if you already know the name of the cologne you want to purchase. An impressive and lengthy list of fragrances is posted right on the first page in alphabetical order. Click on the fragrance you're interested in and another list pops up the all the different packages of that fragrance. Included on this list are body lotions, and gift packs if available. Most scents have several sizes and venues (i.e. Eau de Toilette, Parfum, mini's, sprays, splashes, etc.). The big downer about this list is that there are no photos of the product. I don't know why, but I want to SEE the products. Guess I'm a visually-oriented person, but show me the bottle, please! Cool bottles sell perfume!!
I found Fendi Eau de Toilette spray (what I usually get) in the 1.7 oz bottle for $21.99! Great price! FragranceNet.com also carried the 3.4 oz for $27.50! Even better! So how about parfum?? Usually Fendi parfum is considerably more than the Eau de Toilette, but it's listed at this site for only $34.99 for the 3.4 oz spray. SOLD!!
ORDERING - The ordering part of this transaction was so easy as to not be real memorable - very, very, simple and straight forward procedure. The shipping fee for orders under $60 is $5.95 and free shipping for orders exceeding $60! Great option for holiday gifts! FragranceNet.com declares delivery for standard shipping within 7 business days, and I received my order in exactly 5 days. My bottle of Fendi was packaged in a larger cardboard box with plenty of packing materials to prevent breakage. I was actually surprised when it arrived, thinking it to be something bigger from someone else (and probably not even mine!). Included with my fragrance was a coupon for 10% off my next online purchase!
It's that simple folks! Great variety, good prices, fast and well packaged deliveries. What more do you want?
