One of the things I also use the Jukebox3 for is recording voice memos as well as data from computers in the office and the hospital for my patients. I always keep a 3.5 floppy and a 3 inch CD-R with the files to allow transferred into the JukeBox3. The Zen has proven to be quite useful in data storage and transfer... although I wished it had voice recording abilities from the start. I had used a Nomad II MG with a 64 or 128 MB SmartMedia card for voice memos but I needed data storage too. There aren't many easily portable CD-RW out there that can play MP3s as well... so. (I am not counting the outrageously priced DataPlay disks... now defunct. or the Imation RipGo mini CD-R MP3 player/recorder).
So, it really depends on your use of the item. If you want plain music playback... the best value in my opinion is the iRiver Slim-X (iRiver is about to release a new high end model). I still use my Nomad II MG for exercising and short jaunts from the house... but the Jukebox3 and Zen have proven quite useful for many situations.
For pure MP3 playback... I don't think I could justify anything above a CD/MP3 player at this time. It is the best value for your buck.

I have been wanting a portable MP3 player but I am afraid once the new is worn off it wouldn’t get much use from me.
This one is worth looking at!
