Rings & Things, rings-things.com, is a jewelry findings and bead wholesaler. They have both an online and mail order catalog available. I found Rings & Things when I was looking for a place to purchase goldfilled and silver wire in a variety of sizes and shapes to make wire-wrapped jewelry. I have ordered both findings and beads and been very happy with the products and prices available at Rings & Things.
Website
The Rings & Things website is simple. You can find general information about the company, jewelry and project suggestions, view the catalog and contact the company. They host a bulletin board for asking them questions or asking for advice on a variety of jewelry related topics.
Shopping
The Rings & Things Website is rather antiquated when it comes to online shopping. The online catalog is an accurate representation of the mail order catalog, but the pages are a little difficult to navigate because the main catalog page uses an unusual interface and the products are not linked to an automated shopping cart. Rather, you can look through the catalog online and type each item, including stock number, color number, quantity, description and unit price into the online order form. Although there are a wide range of shipping choices, including UPS, FedEx, USPS and Parcel Post, the shipping cost is not immediately available online. Actual shipping charges range from $4 to $39 depending on the method and destination. Rings & Things does have a good customer service touch of allowing you to choose what to do with backordered items - backorder if over $10, cancel out of stock items, substitute similar item, or hold and ship complete. Payment is by credit card, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express, or Net 30 account. I received an immediate confirmation email that an order had been received and a follow up email the next day (on a weekend) detailing my order, but the shipping cost wasn't revealed until the items were shipped and there is no online order tracking. You can place your order by phone toll-free at 800-366-2156 or email customer service at orders@rings-things.com with questions.
Bottom Line
If you are at all interested in jewelry and beading, don't let the clunky interface stop you from purusing their catalog and ordering. The variety of jewelry making supplies and beads that are available is impressive and the prices are reasonable. My items were shipped quickly in secure packaging. Overall, I was very satisfied with my order from Rings & things and look forward to ordering from them again.
