Pros: Very fast performance, good tech support, easy to set up
Cons: Though the delivery was very fast, I did not get exactly what I had ordered.
The Bottom Line: This is a super machine. I recommend it without reservation.

Until a few days ago, I was using a Dell XPS133 to do my work. It served the purpose, especially because I upgraded everything that could be upgraded. Over the years, I spent so much on upgrades that I could certainly have bought a new machine years ago, but I was satisfied with the high level of support Dell provided. After reading reviews of Gateway's Pentium 4 units, I decided that this was the way to go for my next machine.
Well, buying the machine was not without its problems. The sales rep made numerous mistakes when taking the order. Fortunately, she had everything on paper before she entered the errors, so they were easily solved. As each day passed, I became more fearful of what I had done with my $1800.00.
Good news! The machine I received is super-fast, easy to use, setup was a snap, and I am impressed with Gateway's customer service and technical support. They have been easy to reach and very helpful. (A computer, to some extent, is a computer when the same components are figured in. It's support that distinguishes brands in my opinion.)
What's the difference between this machine and my old 133?
The biggest different is speed on the internet. Using my cable modem with my old computer was a frustrating experience. The data came through, but the machine couldn't process it fast enough. With this new machine, the only thing that slows down internet access is lack of bandwidth on the other end.
Now, I'm not a computer geek, as it were, so let me conclude with a simple statement of satisfaction with this Gateway machine: yippee, pippee, skippee!!! The machine is incredible!
