Hmm, I don't think you have a chance to actually DO something wrong, unless that release mechanism (the insert in the Grey plastic insert) is not assembled correctly (and does not seal properly).

"The so-called Flavor Release Technology allows hot water to saturate coffee grounds longer than traditional coffeemakers (advertisement from article)"
What am I doing wrong? After I brew a pot of coffee and check the grounds, some coffee grounds are still dry. Also, I use more coffee grounds, but this doesn't help the weak flavor.

Hmmm, ours holds for 2.5 months now with no sign of the described decay. Maybe you are using it a lot more, but it seems like ours doesn't have the problems you are describing. (Thanks for the pointer though, I will keep an eye on it.)

Does not hold up (Reply to this comment)

Looks cool until it breaks. Dribbles coffee / misses the cup because it has no spout for pouring. After one year, handle broke off carafe -- impossible to pour. Too hot to hold the stainless carafe. Also the timer switch broke a month after handle broke off carafe. Way too expensive -- expected better quality from Krups.

Re: Krups is German (Reply to this comment)

You know what, I thought so too. I mean being German and growing up with it I never thought about it twice. However, just looking up the www.Krups.com website, I figured that indeed they belong to SEB, a French trust that holds companies like Moulinex, Rowenta and Krups. (The latter 2 are originally from Germany)
Right, the Stainless Steel takes up some heat, especially when only a few cups are brewed at the time. I found that the Krups is good for about 2 hours (w/ 5 cups = half filled).

Krups is German (Reply to this comment)

Good review, however, I believe Krups was/is a German company. Possibly bought by French conglomerate?
My only beef with the stainless Aroma control model is that the coffee does not stay hot for very long once inside the carafe.
