As usual, a thorough and digestible read, Yusakugo! But it looks like something cut off the end of your first paragraph under "First Take." Just thought I'd let you know.
Every handheld looks superior to my Zire now, but then I think, "Does my Zire do everything I need it to do?" As long as the answer keeps ringing YES, then I just can't justify spending more.
Also, I assume you've gone to AvantGo's site already; if not, they have loads and loads of updatable resources for medical pros.
Asta,

hi-res desktop? (Reply to this comment)
by jag2112
Superb review (as always..)
I was wondering, however, if you've been able to discover how to get the desktop into high-rez mode, ala the Clie line...
I'd hate to think that the Tungsten won't allow you to change the icons from 'large, albeit gorgeous' to small and tidy like the Clie.
Any clues because I can't find the solution :(

Nice Review (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the great review. Although I am still confused as to which direction to go for a PDA. Or, as you have stated, simply get a laptop for the price of some Pocket PC prices.
Thanks again

Good facts ... and thorough (Reply to this comment)

I looked briefly towards the Tungsten/T, mainly for its size, but then decided in favor of Sony's NX.
Details: http://www.epinions.com/content_80404647556
One comment on the screen: The Palm finally provides 320x320 pix resolution, which should drive software to better support the hires. However, comparing the display to the Sony NX (and NR), the Palm seems to have less contrast and brightness to offer. This is subjective, but felt the Sony looked much more crisp and brilliant than the Tungsten/T.

Made a correction... the 174-175MHz is an average speed of the two processors in the OMAP1510. Funny, calling it an average speed is also incorrect too... but I put up the speeds of the two processors for all the techheads out there!

Interesting point... I heard that the processor was running at a lower speed to consume less power and I heard of numbers in the 140s. However, I haven't come across any information that clearly states this is the case. The number I've heard most often is 174-175MHz... but when I do find something more concrete (or someone shows me something more concrete) about the processor I'll change that portion of the review. Heck, I still remember the m130 screen disaster Palm had.

Love the Palm series. Great review. Just that the misplaced italics tag may create confusion for other readers.
Keep up the good work!

thanks Jon...
It's getting hard to keep up with this market especially with the ridiculous amounts of new Pocket PC models slated for the rest of the year and Palm OS 5. I'm also interesting in seeing if Apple plans... they had forged an agreement with PalmSource several months ago.

I look forward to your next review on the newest release of Palm PDA or Sony PDA.
