The Bottom Line: If you have five hundred to give up buy it. If you don't have that much sell everything you own and buy one. Its an excelent product.

I love this mp3 player. I was very unsure to hand out five hundred at first but the size and quality pulled me toward it. It has become my best friend in the world. I use it all the time and have had little to no problems with it.
Design
I love the look of this mp3 player. It is so slim and shiny. It looks very modern. People are constantly asking about it. It has an extremly well designed interface. One hand can easily surfe threw the menues in a very short time. There are problems though. It is extremely scratchable. No matter how well you take care of it you will start noticing litlle scratches all over the surface. Luckily there are dozens of cases for it to in every style you could ever want.
Sound
Man this thing sounds great. It bangs your head in if you turn it up full blast. This is the first portable player that I hardly ever get it up to full blast. The headphones that came with it are decent. I used them for about a minute and say to yself these are ok then I threw them into the corner of my room and took out my Bang & Olefson A8s and felt much better. the option to use mp3s encoded up to 320 is nice. You can't tell the diffrence between them and the actual cd.
Software
I unforantly never got to use the software that came with the ipod. I have windows 98 se and unfortunatly it wouldn't install. The fortunate thing though was that I heard that it sucks anyway. I use ephpod which I fell in love with. It is designed to look and work seamlesly with the ipods software. You can transport your entire music collect within minutes. The best part is its free. Yes free no extra fees.
Extras
The case that comes with it is nice but useless. There is no way you can control the ipod when its in it. You have to constanly take it in and out which is extremly annoying. Luckily there are dozens more that you can buy from other companies.
The remote is very nice. You can control pretty much everything with it and it is also very well designed. Every thing is where it is in easy acces. Its also nice and shiny which I like. It doesn't work to quickly when its cold though. but it has to be pretty cold out though.
