This is a nice piece of equipment that prints, faxes and scans beautifully. The problem is that the drivers are terrible if you use it in a network environment (I can't speak to any other environment, since this is the only way we use it, with a jetdirect print server). HP's IT Resource Center, a forum for IT professionals, is full of screaming from computer pros who are irate at the company for failing to resolve longstanding issues regarding this machine (and some others like it). It's reached the point that forum members are actually doctoring some drivers for one another to solve some of the problems HP seems unable to tackle. There is not one but several issues. For instance, one of the HP files, i think it's hpoevm07, has a tendency to monopolize 100% of system resources on boot-up, making your PC very nearly unusable. Then there are the mysterious "SyncWaitMultiple" errors that crop up all over the network. (You can find these discussions via google.) This situation has taken up hours of my time, and HP support has been useless.
