When I first listened to this compact home cinema system at my local dealer I couldn't believe my ears. Where did all that pounding great movie sound come from? All I could see were small 3.5 inch satellites.

There are actually five satellites, three in front (left, right and center) and two in the rear. A powerful, compact 8 inch subwoofer delivers the bass. The center doubles as control center, that is it receives the remote input and displays volume, mode etc. The amplifier and the dolby digital receiver is part of the sub so you won't need a surround receiver with this system. That was a major reason why I bought it. The only thing missing is a TV and dvd-player...

Cons: it lacks DTS decoding and it can't be upgraded. That is not a problem for me because dolby digital is the leading sound system today, and dts's future seems uncertain. The only other con that's worth mentioning is the center speaker which should have been a bit more powerful to give voices more warmth and depth.

Pros:

- great sound!
- night mode (less bass, amplifies low sounds)
- built-in dolby digital and dolby surround decoder
- everything needed is in the box, no need to buy wires etc.
- snap to set up
- durable design

In general I'm very pleased with this system and I'm sure I'll keep it a long time.
