Paper Handling:
Pros:Easy to use, color printer, photocopier, and scanner. Relatively quick printing.
Cons:Ink could last longer. Didn't work with my old Windows95 machine (133mghz).
The Bottom Line: Great value printer/scanner/photocopier. Very easy to use. We would purchase on again without hesitation.
We priced and looked at all of the Multi-function printers on the market (epson, lexmark, etc.), and decided on the Canon MultiPASS F30. We paid $250 (at Best Buy), but it came with a $50 mail-in rebate.
I had problems with our old Windows95 machine (133mghz), since Win95 doesn't support the USB port. My machine was just too slow and old to effectively send info to the printer. We replaced this old klunker since then.
On our newer machines, it worked perfectly (it has never jammed). The printing, both color and B&W looks great. The Photocopier also works very well.
This model comes with very easy to understand set-up instructions. The SW for the scanner, and also for printer status (and printer monitoring) is included. The printer sends info to your PC when the ink is low, or its out of paper (or any problems).
The printer comes with B&W and Color Ink, but not the printer cables (USB port). The longevity of the ink is our only complaint, but we are using it to print and make photocopies regularly. It lasts roughly a month with our regular personal and business use.
You can buy Ink very reasonable on the internet if you get generic brands (we bought from Iowaink.com). They are a fraction of the price of the canon name-brand ink, and work just as well.
