After reading most of the reviews on Sounddomain.com, I'd have to say this site is grossly underrated. I found the selection to be excellent, the prices great, and the delivery on time. Prior to shopping with this merchant, I checked them out at Epinions, and found less than desirable reviews. But the deals they offered were too good to pass up, and they appeared to be more reputable than many of the other sites carrying the product I was looking for. So I tried them, and I don't regret it.
The product I bought from Sounddomain was a new JVC headunit for my car. I was looking for one that played MP3s, and saw the unit at Bestbuy retailing for $380 (on sale even). Like I usually do, I found out what I liked in the store, played with it, grilled the sales person, and then bought it cheaper online. So I began hunting around the net and found the same product for as cheap as $219.99. Big difference from $380! Although that price was at the shadest website I've seen in awhile, from some company located in the Bronx.
However, Sounddomain was offering the same unit for $229.99 - but wait - they have a 105% price match guarantee. So I ended up with the same radio for the shaddy website price, minus an additional 5%, from Sounddomain, which looked way safer. Pretty cool, huh?
Now here comes the fun part, waiting for your new toy to arrive. Sounddomain is located out in Washington state, so if you live anywhere on the east coast (like I do) expect somewhat of a waiting period. I had to wait 6 business days for UPS ground (which ended up being 10 days, cause I ordered at the end of the week and had to sit through 2 weekends). The product came completely as promised, on time, and works great. I would recommend this merchant to anyone looking for high end audio equipment, at low end prices.
Now I'll have to admit I did not deal with their customer service - save the nice online tracking feature that let me know exactly where my package was. Nor did I have anything backordered, or receive the wrong product. Of course not encountering these problems makes for a good shopping experience, but when they are experienced - how a merchant deals with them, is the true test of customer service, and from what I have seen in other reviews, Sounddomain may lack in this department.
