I bought my first Ionic Breeze Quadra about 2 years ago on Ebay. I paid about $200, and you can get one for even cheaper now. I was impressed by the infomercials and figured I needed something, because at the time I lived in a very old building that seemed to be MADE of dirt. The walls seemed to breathe black soot, even though no fireplace had been in use for decades.
I can't say the results were miraculous. This machine will not make it possible to never dust, or vacuum, and I cant say you will never cough or sneeze again.
I can say that what I clean off the blades after 1-2 weeks of use is extraordinary for something that makes no noise and creates a very small draft through itself.
I use a couple of paper-towels and some Windex and wipe the blades shiny clean, and I get off the blackest clumps of crud I have ever seen come out of any air filter. (mind you I have had air filtration units in my life since I was 6 because of allergies, I am now 28)
Now I live in a much cleaner apartment in a building that is only 12 years old, it is out in the suburbs surrounded by clean air and trees. The Ionic Breeze Quadra still collects a lot of stuff every couple of weeks, and also takes care of any cooking or other smells, and makes the place smell fresh.
So as for the infomercial, I have seen a lot of them since, and have purchased some of the items because of them, I have also known better than to bother purchasing them. I have to say that the Ionic Breeze Quadra's infomercial is the most accurate and worthy one I have seen yet. I see it now and I have to agree with everything said.
About my cons, since the draft of air it creates through it is not a force wind, it can not cover a huge area, which is why I bought 2 for my current apartment, but they are both worth it. And after about 6 months of use you will notice the outside of the unit gets dirty from the ionization, so you need to clean that which because of the fins isnt easy, but not impossible either.
