Who: Me and Hubby
What: Hotel stay
Where: Super 8, Ithaca
When: Last week of August, 2002
How: Price-shopped and reserved online; drove there
Why: Because we're cheap.
What you need to know:
1) Price was higher than usual because it was move-in week for Ithaca College and Cornell University; we paid about $68/night plus tax.
2) Hotel is two stories tall but no elevator; ask for ground floor if you need it.
3) Good customer service, friendly staff who added another night to our stay with no problem.
4) Room: bed, ice bucket, phone, towels - the basics. No coffee maker or other fancy stuff.
5) Other amenities: Exercise room with treadmills. Free continental breakfast, high on the sugars and carbs.
6) Location: about 10-15 minute drive from almost all Ithaca attractions and colleges. Terrific grocery store (Wegmans) immediately next door with inexpensive carry-out foods, salad bar, etc.
