Pros: Wonderful performance, even better price
Cons: There are faster cards out there...but do you really need them?
The Bottom Line: Can't beat the performance for the price.

If you are like me and don't have the $400 dollars to buy a top of the line graphics card, but you still love to play games and demand performance than look no further than the GeForce 2 MX. This card is perfectly balanced between price and performance. At right around $100 bucks the Guillemot 3D Prophet II MX fits most budgets quite nicely.
I love games and I want to be able to play them with all the features and goodies turned on to enhance gameplay. The 3D Prophet II MX hasn't let me down yet in this area. I am able to turn every setting to maximum on every game I own and the card isn't even phased by it. I had no idea just what I was missing until I upgraded to this card. Being able to play game the way the designers intended them to be played is more than enough reason to justify my upgrade.
With this card installed in my Athlon Thunderbird 800 MHz system I was able to pull off 111.3 frames per second using default settings in the Quake 3 Benchmark. When I turn all the settings on maximum and bump the resolution up to 1024 x 768 I can still pull off a very respectable and playable 62 frames per second.
This card is excellent for those of us on a budget and should meet the requirements of all but the most hardcore gotta have the best gamers out there. I highly recommend it.
