Pros: Free. Basically works well. Controlled access eliminates many "nuisance" users.
Cons: While basic interactive (voice!) Help is great, anything deeper gets minimal response.
The Bottom Line: Far from perfect, but the best there is in late 2002. Learn its quirks, then talk to the world, for free. º¿º

I try about every (free) voice program available, and for last 2 years have chosen PalTalk as my clear preference.
It has a LOT of shortcomings, but overall is still the best/easiest way to communicate with friends, or strangers - by voice, with video as well if required.
Basic help is incredible! Simply go to a Help Room, wait your turn (maybe 5 min), then speak - or type if necessary - direct to a PalSupport person. Unfortunately even these "experts" can be at a loss over "advanced" queries.
I feel the MAIN area where PalTalk excels is not on the technical side, but on the overall QUALITY of the USERS! This is due to the excellent controls available to report abuse, and/or to remove troublemakers temporarily or permanently from your Group.
