BabyGap.com is full of all the things you should be looking for in online shopping: Wonderful selection, user-friendly site, very thorough item descriptions, several shipping options, free gift boxes and FAST shipping! The site is secure, so no worries about fraud....and no hassles trying to fight the crowds at the mall!
I have three children under the age of 5, and in the past 6 months I have made approximately 12 purchases from BabyGap.com. It is my favorite online store, and for several reasons!
First of all, I HATE shopping in crowds. And chances are if I make it to the mall, which is at least 2 1/2 hours from my house to the nearest one, they won't have what I'm after in the size I need. With three children under five, it's no fun to load them up in the car, pack diaper bags, car seats, toys, snacks, etc...just to go shopping. Online shopping is a parent's best friend, and BabyGap.com couldn't make it easier or safer!
Most importantly, the site is very secure. With all of the purchases I've made, I have received my items on time, and my order was 100% complete.
Using the site is very easy, and items are grouped by category--pants/jeans, tops, sweaters, activewear, socks and shoes, accessories, etc. You just click on baby boy or baby girl, and then you can click on what you want to see. (The sale link is the first one I go to!)
WHY I BUY AT BABYGAP.COM?
SELECTION
The selection is a big advantage the online store has over the mall stores. At babygap.com you see EVERYTHING the stores have to offer and in a wider variety of sizes. I can get matching shirts for all three kids....without leaving the comfort of my home. The descriptions on the clothes are excellent-they provide sleeve-length, button/snap information, color options, fabric content and CARE, and more. I also love that they will let you CLICK on a different color of an item to see it in each available color, so no having to use your imagination!
I think my favorite thing about the site is the sale/clearance section. They must have the largest online selection of sale items available anywhere! If you click on the sale link at the top of the page you'll find page after page of sale items, and when BabyGap.com has a sale--they have a SALE! I was able to get my daughter's Christmas dress this year for $14.99, plus the matching hat and shirt, and they are adorable! Red velvet with pink satin underlying fabric--so cute! I got my son 4 long-sleeved, pocket t's with the Brennan Bear on the chest for $6.99 each, and I got him the famous Donegal sweater for $6.97. You can't get clothes for that kind of money at Walmart, much less the QUALITY you get at BabyGap.
PRICE
As I stated, sale items are cheap. And often if you wait a week or two and watch them they'll get even cheaper, but selection will vary at that point. As for prices on regular, non-sale items, usually I am very pleased. I can get quality baby basics that I know are going to hold up for not much more than I would have paid at Target or Walmart. What I do notice being too expensive are the big-ticket items, like sweaters that will often run between $38-$98. WOW! But again...keep your eye on them and you'll catch them on sale, and hopefully in your size. I can usually get baby's complete outfit, without sale prices, for less than $30. But in all honesty, most of the things I buy are on sale, because BabyGap.com has sales every day.
QUALITY
One of the main reasons I buy BabyGap merchandise is for the quality. The fabrics are heavier and closer-knit than any department stores fabrics. I LOVE the double-layering at the shoulders, the reinforced hems, the sturdy snaps. What is especially nice is that lately they've started adding a layer of fabric at the neckline so the embroidered bear logo isn't "scratchy" to baby's skin. And the socks--the socks are my favorite socks in the world. BabyGap.com socks are usually offered at 4 for $10--they are triple roll socks and they STAY ON. Not to mention they have rubberized grips on the bottoms for baby's safety when pulling up or standing/walking on slick floors. We have NEVER worn a hole or frayed an article of clothing from this merchant.
The products themselves attract parents because of the matching and coordinating pieces. They offer an entire newborn/infant Essentials line that comes in three fabric choices for boys and girls, as well as neutral choices. They offer cardigans, pants, onesies, one-pieces, hats, blankets, socks, shoes, and bibs all coordinating. My youngest daughter has the last Essentials line in all 3 Stages (1-3) and in all 3 prints, in every piece. She gets sooooo many compliments on it, especially when teamed up with the reversible hat and shoes. Most of it was purchases ON SALE from the website as well, because the mall stores were out of certain sizes, colors, or pieces. That was what truly made me a fan of online shopping at BabyGap.com!
As for check-out it just couldn't be easier. As you're shopping you just add items to your bag, and when you're ready to pay you simply click on "shopping bag." At shopping bag you'll be able to look over your items and quantities once more, and make changes (deleting or adding) as needed. Then if you're a first-time user you'll need to enter a credit card #, set up a user ID and password, etc. The next time you return to make a purchase, all that is needed is your user ID and password. There are several shipping options, including next-day and overnight as well as standard 4-5 day. Payment options are plentiful and they accept most major credit cards and the Gap card. There is available gift-wrapping, and gift boxes are free! FREE!
BabyGap mimics adult clothing trends and for trendy parents who are looking for stylish, affordable clothing--this site can't be beat.
