The Bottom Line These are my favorite movies because they have the best combinations of story, effects and acting.

The horror genre is one that is all to often exploited. It is filled with bad acting, stupid plots, and the such. But every now and then there are a few rare Gems that come forth. So here is a list of my 10 favorite Horror films. I will list the films and what I really liked the most about them

10. Scream. This film made fun of just about every B-movie and horror flick ever made. And it still managed to scare the pants off most people. The thing I found most scary is that it could really happen....

9. Wes Cravens New Nightmare- The venerable Wes Craven takes his razor clawed creation into a new realm. I really liked how this movie used actors that played in the original Nightmare on Elm Street. The story line was very interesting too. I mean what is more scary than Freddy Krugger in the movie...How about Freddy crossing and slashing into real life!!

8. Mary Shellys Frankenstien (The Kenneth Branaugh version) This movie had it all, great effects, great acting. This movie also dived deeper into the mental state of Dr Frankenstien, and also show a more personal side to his monster. You almost feel sorry for the monster, who is shunned because he is ugly. Robert De Niro is excellent as the monster.

7. Bram Stokers Draclua( Copolia Version) This movie was elegant and scary at the same time. It also featured a plot twist not shown before in Dracula movies....Love!

6. Final Destination - Another teeny bopper flick, but this one has teens being stalked by the bad mother himself-DEATH. The Bus scene in this movie is really something you will not forget soon!

5. Friday the Thirteenth Part 1. The original that started the reign of terror of Jason Voories. Oddly enough he does not appear in this movie. This movie has some very intense and creative death scenes

4. A Nightmare on Elm Street - The humble roots of the Fred mister, before the kid, before he was the master, and before he got killed again 7 times. This movie does a great job of creating one of the most scary villains in history. Love the bed scene. This is my favorite out of all the NOES movies.

3. Fright Night - Great werewolf story. I really liked the idea of the neighbor being a werewolf and a goofy television star having to help slay it. Great visual effects as well as a great story.

2. The Silver Bullet- This is based on a Steven King short story. It is on of the best werewolf stories I have seen. It also does a great job of staying true to the book.
I was scared of Priest for quite a while after watching this one. Great special effects as well as great acting. Hey you cannot go wrong if it is a Steven King movie

1..IT- This is my all time favorite Reason being, it had a great story, great back story, and one really scary clown!
and again it is a Steven King movie. I love the way the adults fought the demon when they were kids and had to fight him again as adults. This is the movie I recommend the highest

Well there is it. I hope that this list can help you to discern what is good and what is bad. Horror movies after all are meant to scare you:) If anyone has some other horror movies, please let me know, I am always looking for a good movie
