Pros: Stylish, efficient, a real space-saver.
Cons: Expensive (you're buying the name) and surprisingly cheap cables and speakers.
The Bottom Line: This is an impressive and stylish unit.

| nwnovelist's Full Review: Nakamichi SS8 System |
I looked at several high end "bookshelf" systems and settled on the Nakamichi, primarily as a result of the many favorable opinions here. Though I enjoy the unit overall, from Day 1 I've had loose connection problems with the System Control Cable. Otherwise, when I can get it to stay in one place it sounds great! Memo to Nakamichi: For this kind of money (which isn't an issue for me) why not provide premium cabling and fault-free connections? As you'll note, everyone here seems to be swapping yours out for Monster cables...there's good reason for that. And speaker distortion is a surprising issue as well, though I rarely listen to it loudly.
