| tchoate's Full Review: Microsoft Word |
Microsoft Word is the most used word processing program around today. I believe this is so because of the ease of use you have with this program. It offers some wonderful features that can help you produce a letter, legal document, school paper or just a quick note to a friend.
Why Word?
I use Microsoft Word at work. It was part of the Microsoft Office 2000 package that we purchased. We had always used Microsoft Word at the office starting with Word ’97. I have always found this program to be easy to navigate and to figure out. As with most Microsoft products it has a great help feature. We use Microsoft Word for typing letters, memos, and various other typing needs that we have.
What Microsoft Word Offers You
This program offers the most up to date features for a word processing program I have ever used. It gives you various fonts, font size, font style and font color. All of these are very easy to set for each document you type according to what you need the document to look like. One feature that I really like is the automatic spell check or spell correction feature. If you are typing along and misspell a word it will automatically fix the word for you, it does it so quickly that sometimes I don’t even notice it. You can also have it spell and grammar check your document when you are finished typing.
Microsoft Word also has that wonderful word count feature, if you need your document to have a set amount of words, when you are finished typing Word will count them for you.
This program also offers you the tools to do a web page. We use this program at work for our mailing labels. You have to set up a table and enter your data in Microsoft Word, you then do a mail merge and it will merge your table onto the size of labels that you need. The entire process doesn’t take 5 minutes for me each week from beginning to end. Once you get all the data into the program the first time, it is clear sailing from then.
Why I like Microsoft Word
Personally, I like Microsoft Word for its ease of use. It is the easiest word processing program to learn that I have ever used. I also like all of its features and the fact that most of them at the touch of your fingertip. They offer a great help feature with this program just like all of the Microsoft Office programs. I have found this program easy to use for importing charts, graphs from Microsoft Excel. Also the handy undo feature will let you go back and put something back in that you deleted by mistake. I have done this many times and used the undo feature to add it right back to my document.
Final Thought
If you are looking for an easy to use word processing program, then Microsoft Word is the one for you. You can sit down and in about 30 minutes know enough to type your first epinion or letter on this program. It is a little expensive for a word processing program, but it is also a very powerful program. It is included in the Microsoft Office 2000 package along with Excel, Access, Publisher, and Microsoft Outlook.
Check out this program and see if you don’t agree with me about its many uses.
