This is a perfectly detailed review. I was thinking about buying one for my 7-year old grandson. You are becoming my fav. game reviewer.

To clarify... (Reply to this comment)

I meant having someone without the experience modding your PS2 can be risky.

"Modding, or chipping, is to modify your PS2 with a mod chip so it can play bootlegs or discs that are out of region (Japanese imports, for example.) Not only is this illegal, it comes with the risk of damage to your system."
Are u kidding? I don't even have PS2 but I have 4 mod chips... everyone wants to one, especially since the quality PS2 ones seem impossible to find in the U.S.

I suspected this, but thought it best to restrict myself to merely hinting at it in my comment. (The parenthesizing & bracketing were a dead giveaway. [wink-wink]) This only reinforces my high estimation of your guide qualifications, oh noble P-2 Queen.

Hey november, I think you should go back to that original title... I liked that one better. ;-)

Good to see you back in the saddle again.
A stunning case for why the P2 dominates. Although, I found it a little surprising that you neglected to include Metal Gear Solid 2 in your list of 'good games'. I hate to sound like a fanboy, but it remains one of the most entertaining games I've engaged in yet.
I have to agree with your placement of 'The Bouncer', though. It makes even Parasite Eve seem like something more than a polished turd.
Counting the days until Xenosaga hits the shelves,

This review originally had a less classy title that you'd usually find in the Hustler of PS magazines, but I thought it sounds as if I make love to my PS2. (Which I do...'nt.)

The Raining Queen of Playstation (Reply to this comment)

Rain, this playstation opus is so comprehensive and well-written, we may have to redefine the meaning of "helpfulosity." I can say with absolute certainty, that if I ever have to take a "fantastic journey" through the body of a playstation, you will be my expert, guide and consultant for all purposes.
"Beautiful Circuitry" --heh, heh, heh... This could be the "written centerfold" for Playstation Magazine... You is funny.

Yay! You make us all wait for your reviews for a while, but when you finally put them out, they're so damn good that they are definitely worth the wait.
This is definitely true. Excellent review and glad to see you back, November!

Rocky - it should be known anyway.
Tom - I'm back! As for my PS2, I'd rather just flick the switch on/off. No patience to wait a few seconds. :D

Hi. I actually keep my PS2 vertical, it really does save space on my entertainment center. I don't use the stand, but its positioned where it can't fall, the stand is a good idea if the PS2 will be free standing.
As far as the power button, I keep it on all the time. If you push the reset button and hold it for a couple seconds it puts the PS2 in shut down mode. Simply push it again and it comes on, just a little tip.
Though I relish the stunning visuals of the GC and Xbox, the PS2 does an adequate job with graphics in most cases, my biggest gripe are things like slow-down, which actually disturb gameplay. I've played several nice looking PS2 games that ran like sh*t. Being a racing nut aliasing is actually intrusive on those titles as well.
Nice review, see ya around.
