My daughter watches Wild Thornberry's on Cartoon Network, along with all the other cartoons on that channel.

...I think that should be Thornberrys, not Thornberries.

...saying that chimp and human DNA is 98% the same. This is scientific fact.

I think I'd agree with you that the concept of Eliza going to boarding school is very odd. The whole point of the Thornberries are that they live in the wild.

We all enjoyed this movie fairly well ... (Reply to this comment)

David (11) and Skye (5) laughed a lot and neither seemed confused or upset by the conflicts in the move ... but every child is different. My review definitely differs from yours ... but I found many of your points very interesting ... sort of a hmmmm... I can see how someone could see it that way kind of thing.

BTW, it's not a huge thing ... but according to the movie's website, Eliza is now 12, not 10. I guess unlike some cartoon characters, she's aged a bit over the years! *LOL*

Have a GREAT day!

I'm gonna have to start reading your reviews more closely. I was surprised you went to see Wild Thornberries or Jonah.

I was just wondering why you rated someone a somewhat, that's all. You are the reason I don't write anymore. You never give people a chance nor do you ever give a reason.

I had kind of mixed feelings about this flick. Part of me liked it, and it sure captured the kiddos interest, but at the same time it didn't really strike me as hugely innovative. A definite step up from snoozers like the Veggie Tales Jonah movie though...

Happy new year all!

Nah, I probably enjoyed it alot.

It's just when I started writing I got hyper-critical. Ask anyone whose review I don't VH -- I'm just too picky :-) :-)

Maybe we could do a rugrats/thornberries write off.

A lot of the same sentiments between our two reviews, although I think I enjoyed it a bit more than you did.

Guess we'll be comparing notes on the Rugrats meet the Thronberrys movie too.

this movie while I was in NYC with my cousins. They seemed to enjoy it - I thought that I would fall asleep. There were some funny parts, however.

My nieces are starting to choose movies which I actually can admit to having watched and enjoyed when speaking with other adults. When my two nieces were quite small, I think the reactions of my nieces as well as the other small children in the theater were often more interesting than the movie we were watching at the time. The comments that some of the children shout out at the screen or the questions that they loudly ask their parents about the movie are often better than the jokes in the movie. ;) Happy Holidays

Your right, every audience is different! There was a little guy behind us I thought was going to lay an egg he laughed so hard! I couldn't say anything though my daughter was laughing just as bad. There were quite a few younger kids in the crowd, all about 5, 6 or 7 so maybe that's why it went over so well. I know I enjoyed just seeing Brennah enjoy it so much. The only part of the movie that I didn't like was the Donnie's wedgie dance. Ugh! Annoying! Hope ya had a great holiday! Smiles, Char

Guess every audience is different. In our theatre -- which was packed-- hubby and I were the only ones that laughed out loud. Yes, I kept an ear and eye out for that

I must be in the minority. I really liked this movie and by the reaction of the children and adults sitting around me; I'd say they did too. It's a cartoon for kids and family and I'm not sure why any religious beliefs would be brought up in this review. I myself would be more worried about explaining why poachers want to kill the elephants. You did a great job telling about the movie and so this is another great review! Smiles, Char

I think Nick was pushing it so much after Hey Arnold flopped so bad. They didn't want another flop.

Plus with the Rugrats/Thornberry movie coming up they want to make sure they have an audience for that

Enjoy your quiet time when hubby and son go to see

Actually the wedgie dance isn't as a major point as it seems to be in the commercials.

Three stars is average and this was average... Could have been better. Could have been worse.

We saw this over the holiday also. The kids were thrilled and Grandma loved it, but your right. As far as kid movies go this was just average. :)

That it's actually out. I was SO sick and tired of seeing the previews. It's like Nickelodeon was pushing this movie extra hard. And I told Ethan if he wanted to go - take Dad instead!

My 7 year old has been hooked on the Wedgie dance and does it out in public to show people.

We have to wait for this to come out on video.
