If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!

The Bottom Line Restore the site to the previous ease of use, in addition to the compensation for items of human interest. Abandon the dominating and overbearing legalize you've adopted.

It took me by surprise when Epinions went down for remodeling... I almost went into DTs waiting for the site to come back up. Fortunately, a friend threw me a life raft (BrightIdeas.com) and I went there, pending the "New & Improved Epinions Site."

WELL, new and improved is a misnomer. I hate the changes in format and the other changes which have been forced upon us. I find the site now difficult to navigate and am annoyed with all the scrolling I must do to see the entire screen. Did Epinions employee a bunch of monkeys to redesign the site? Or, simply morons?

I find it disturbing that Epinions seems to have removed the incentives for writing about the human elements. Newspapers long ago found that by adding human interest stories, readership improved. Once, Epinions was the site to read for information AND comfort, not to mention entertainment. Boy, lets give them a hand for "throwing out the baby with the dishwater!"

I am also deeply offended that Epinions may decide to "limit and/or restrict" our ability to "update and/or delete" our writing. Say, what?

Therefore, be that as it may, I shall procede to delete those OPINIONS of mine that Epinions seems to feel are no longer worth compensating me for. What is this matter of product reviews verses essays? Who decides and what is the specific criteria? Well, it may be available for those who wish to dig diligently for it, count me out. The effort required is more than I care to extend.

Perhaps the remodeling of the site was truely to my benefit. Without it, I would never have ventured out of the arms of this site and into another. I have not really tried Writtenbyme, nor Themestream... But, I have really grown to love Bright Ideas. I like the relaxed atmosphere: the openness. Without the ogre breathing down my neck I have found here. How odd, I have made more cash in a month with the new site than I ever have with this one.

Farewell, Epinions. Your narrow minded approach to marketing our ideas throughly turns me off.
