Pros: Low flat rate for phone service.
Cons: Features cost extra, customer service lacking.
The Bottom Line: I think the low flat rate is something that should become a standard for all phone companies. I have been very happy with my Cricket service. No complaints.

| rlizard813's Full Review: General Reviews of Cricket Communications Wireless... |
I'm 23 and fresh out of college. When I made that decision to finally get a cell phone, I went to some other big name providers and was told I would need to put down a $200-500 deposit because I had no credit. (Not BAD credit, just NO credit). So I went to Cricket.
I was skeptical at first and it hurt paying $100 for the phone when some of the other service providers had offers that included a free phone when you signed up. But I've used Cricket for 4 months now and I have no complaints. There was a two week period where I was being disconnected and losing my signal, but I went to the Cricket store and explained this and they gave me a new phone, no questions asked. And after that my service was fine again, so I'm assuming it was a problem with the phone, not Cricket themselves.
I have voicemail and caller ID, and I pay the optional insurance, so my bill is approx. $50 per month. But considering how much I would pay to talk the same amount on a phone plan that counted my minutes, it's well worth it. In addition, the stress that not having to count my minutes saves me is immeasurable.
The other Cricket reviews here are all about a year old, so I'm guessing that maybe Cricket wised up and improved it's service. Whatever the reason, I can say that I have thus far been pleased.
