Sorry, I didn't get around to seeing this until today and couldn't email you.
You asked:
Good review, Do you know if you can use that oil that they use in the professional popcorn makes in this machine?
======================
The answer is yes. You can use 1-2 tablespoons in the popper. The only drawback is that it's harder to clean the Powercup - we generally add it after it's popped.
Thanks,
Lorace

Good review, Do you know if you can use that oil that they use in the professional popcorn makes in this machine? I do so love the theater popcorn but after looking into the price of the machines ($400 to $500) I can't justify it and I hate microwave popcorn in the bags.

Can you believe my son is the greatest guy in the world? He is nothing like me. He is a big shot now at the Chicago Board of Trade and he loves Chicago. He is always trying to help me and now he wants to help my worthless son-in-law. He gave him a job (in Chicago) making $55,000 a year for sitting on his butt and taking free classes. The problem is he is too dumb to pass any of the classes, so he might not be able to keep the job (by law).
My son-in-law seems to be near even when we lived in different states. I guess there is no escaping him.

Ha Ha. You and your cute names for the people in your family....I never can stop laughing, Chuck.
I thought there was a change in locations there for you. How nice! Although, are you now with THE son-in-law???? Oh, me. Archie Bunker look out!
Well, Chuck. Get yourself a Presto Popper and butter it yourself. And have mercy on the grandson, you may scar him for life. I can just hear him telling his psychiatrist, "You see, I had to fight for every kernel of corn I ever choked on." LOL
Thanks for stopping in. See you the 29th.

This review does have me craving popcorn. When I take my grandson to the movies, I buy him a small and myself the biggest tub they have, before the movie is over I have my popcorn finished and I start eating some of the fartknuckles.
February 29th at 7 PM, I wish I could make it...My kids have me in Chicago...they must think i'm too dangerous to live alone.
Thanks for the review, you have all of Epinions wanting butter popcorn.

Lorace,
No...no wood stove...but that sounds nice! :)Something to back up to to garner warmth...just the way you could with the space heaters like Granny used. If you are cold, it's hard to find instant warmth with central heating!
I don't even have a fireplace for all the wood we end up with as we clear some of the land up at our place on Lake Tawakoni! Mark does use a lot in the smoker....we have frequent cookouts, and he has built one of the biggies on a trailer so we can haul it home or to the lake. You're invited! MMMmmmm good!
I balked at buying this house because of no fireplace! Someone told me that back in the 50's when this one was built... people were so thrilled to have CENTRAL air conditioning, that they wouldn't add the fireplaces to their new modern dwellings.
And I live in the home that the BUILDER that developed this neighborhood back in 1959 lived in....his home/sales office/model.
Where was his MARKETING sense! He should have had BOTH so people would have wanted BOTH in their home....ya know the JONESES syndrome.
So, I NEVER have lived in a home with a fireplace! I love stepping outside and smelling the crisp cold air and the scent of burning fireplaces from my sprinkling of neighbors who DID go ahead and add fireplaces when they built.
Back to the popcorn...actually, I prefer any food prepared on any stove, just as long as I'm not the one preparing it!!! LOL
I love the smell of popcorn no matter how/where it's popped....unless it burns!!! :(

And thanks to you, Virginia, for POPPING in here and making me feel good -
Wish we could spend an evening together. I don't like apples, though, but I could bring some of these delicious Arizona Naval Oranges!
Happy and wonderful year to you and yours,

like fun. Fresh hot buttered pop corn, with no unpopped seeds, and a suspenseful movie on the TV makes for a great evening. I love a bowl of popcorn coupled with a sliced Golden Delicious apple and a big glass of ice water - you can't beat it. Thanks for a fun review that left nothing unpopped. Have a great 2003.

Elaine,
I'm not certain about airpopped corn, but this doesn't taste anything like styrofoam! It's really very good and I don't like popcorn that well. You should read the recipes! I even found one online for chocolate/nuts popcorn. Now that I'd like.
I'm sure you'd like this - thanks for the nice comment.

Yummm! This definitely sounds like a winner! (Reply to this comment)
by elainehn
Do you have any idea how the taste/texture compare to using an air popper? I bought an air popper because I figured it would make the pop corn a little healthier and be cheaper than the microwave bags... but it's like eating styrofoam pellets!!!! *YUCK* So now I'm stuck with a huge bag of 'real' pop corn ... and a popper that I don't like ... and I keep buying the microwave bags!
I have some money on a Wal-mart gift card left over from a Christmas return ... I may just have to pick up one of these! (Unlike my air popper ... I'll save the box in case I have to return it! *LOL*)
Thanks for the GREAT review!
