Hi Carol-
Yeah, I can see how this might not work well for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of free counter space. The biggest advantage I have found for mine is that I can just bring the whole thing over to the kitchen table during meals. It makes it nice and convenient.
Your brother sounds talented. I am sure your's is a lot nicer than any store bought one!
Thanks for writing-

Sorry to hear about your (Reply to this comment)

screwy problem! My bro sent me a hand made one for Christmas. Finished a piece of scrap walnut or oak, then took a piece of scrap dowel from my nephew's venetian blind business. Finished it. It looks NICE, but I have been in this house more years than I care to admit (I'd be giving my age away). Unfortunately there is no where to put it, except in the closet and bring it out when they come to visit.

Paper Towels... (Reply to this comment)
by kld718
I never could figure out what that little side pole was for either...it never did hold my paper towels right or stop the one sticking out from looking like it was about to fly away.
I'll have to go to Sears and check out another one of these things without the little bar. ;-)

for my mother in law - I was tired of her leaving paper towel rolls all over the counter! :O) Kimm

Well I am glad to hear that I am the not only one. Good job on giving it "the slip" during your move. : )

It was a pain in the neck. I purposely lost it during my last move.
I'd review it, but you did just fine in trashing tt. :)
Thanks!
