I researched reviews and estimated delivery times when researching the three titles I recently ordered. I compared Amazon.com to Walmart.com & Buy.com - most other retailers were more expensive. Amazon offered Free SuperSaver shipping which I thought was 3rd class mail or some other method which would take a month to arrive - as my selection wasn't time critical I took a gamble.
My prior experience with Amazon was two or three years ago around the holidays. They promised delivery of various toys and it didn't arrive until after the holidays! I was highly disappointed at the time and didn't come back. I will note the customer service was great in returning the goods during that mishap.
My recent decision was based on reviews and giving Amazon another chance on a simpler order. My ordering process was VERY simple and shipping was free! They advised of the shipdate; email after it was shipped and anticipated arrival date.
The only thing incorrect with my order was the anticipated arrival date as it arrived two days after shipping instead of 5-7 as stated in the email. I'm very happy and paid the second lowest prices on the internet for my items (after BUY.COM by only one dollar). I highly recommend Amazon and feel comfortable choosing SuperSaver if your order exceeds $25. I understand why this company survives and still going stronger each day..
