Cons:uncomfortable headphones, comes with a very small compact flash card
The Bottom Line: Unless you only have about 8 songs that you like, you should definitely check how much a 300mb sandisk is. Other than that it's definitely worth the $109

I purchased my Nex II off of frontierlabs.com thinking it was going to be some cheesy hollow non-durable mp3 player (what you'd expect when you're paying $109). Little did I know that the Nex II is one of the highest quality mp3 players I've ever seen, of course I haven't seen too many. The shipment was free and incredibly fast, although I wasn't home to sign when the package first got there so I had to wait until the next day for them to try to drop it off again. I opened the package and found exactly what I thought I was going to find, a light cheesy piece of plastic. Of course I had to try it before I could say anything. I plugged in the USB cable and went into windows media player. I got some songs and put them in the "waiting to be written section". It was only a few seconds later when I noticed a message next to the last 5 of my songs, "WILL NOT FIT". As I looked down at the box and it read 32mb Compact Flash Card. So I sadly put on my 8 songs and went to test it out.

The sound was great with a volume scale that goes to about 25 which is almost loud enough to be heard without having the headphones on (I usually have mine at around 17 or 18). The headphones were incredibly uncomfortable with those darn clip things, so I ended up putting on the headphones from my old cd-player.

The LCD screen had nice resolution. Good enough to be able to tell what song you're playing. It's very hard to see when you have the carrying case on though.

The skins are ok, but since I don't really care much about appearance I decided to just leave it as is.

The Compact Flash Card (which stores the music) is very small. It only carries about 8 songs, and the price of buying a bigger one is about twice the cost of the mp3 player. You can fit more uncompressed songs on to a standard cd-r than you can fit on the whole drive of the Nex II. I highly recommend you see what kind of deal you can get on a 100mb or 300mb sandisk before you run out and buy this mp3 player.

It's very light and easy to carry which is nice for all you people who spend hours in the gym every day. Very nice for long plane and car trips as well.
