The review does mention all the drawbacks you speak of but I do not find them to be a major issue. My 8 year old son loves to vacuum and uses it often. He can carry it up the stairs and vacuum them without any problems. He does however complain about the hose but has never run over it. Since an 8 year old can handle it and like it I just assumed an adult should not have a problem.

I bought this vaccuum and had to return it. It is far to difficult to pull and the hose keeps falling off. Also, the upholstery tool doesn't stay put. Unless you want vacuuming to be your weight lifting work-out, I would not recommend this vacuum.

This is the heaviest vacuum cleaner I have ever used. It is so heavy that I returned it to the store because I would never take it out of vacuum. Also, the foot release is difficult to operate and the hose keeps falling off, creating quite a nuisance. There is also a problem with the upholstery tool storage - it fails to hold it in place. I would not recommend anyone buying this vacuum.

Now I know why this is called a cleaning system. I am still using a Dirt Devil thingy that is a pain to dump. Today I used the tool attachment to clean out a fan and it was a real mess.
My problem is just putting together these things, but if only the handle needs to be done I might be able to handle that.

you on bagless vacs. I tried one before and it was a pain to empty with the dust flying everywhere.

and this does sound like a very good vacuum.
I liked the way you explained the attachments and how the brush will raise up when doing floors, etc. You gave us a lot of valuable information to think about.
