I was excited to get this product because the thought of running 30 ft. of cable, through 2 walls didn't appeal to me. Unfortunately, I wound up running the wiring anyway. The Sonic Link was basically unusable right out of the box. It's 2.4 GHz frequency interferes with all sorts of common electrical devices - WiFi network, some cordless phones, and microwaves. The unit has 4 band settings, but I could not find one that was any better than the others. Most of the time there is a rhythmic popping sound every second or so. Even unplugging some of the 2.4 Ghz devices in my house didn't seem to help. Sometimes it quieted down enough to fall below the annoyance threshold, but mostly not.
The remote that interfaces with the PC software also stopped working at some point. I found this out after, having given up on the Sonic Link, deciding to give it just one more try. I shouldn't have bothered. It just frustrated me more!
Finally, the included software was just horrible. Imagine a "shuffle" feature that always starts on the same song and always proceeds through the same song order. You can get a different order by manually playing a different song then allowing it to shuffle but, come on, why should you have to mess with it? As jukebox software goes, it was a joke, with the only useful feature being the interface with the remote (which stopped working as I mentioned).
In summary, great idea, lousy product.
